Lazy Trader Joe’s Meatball Sliders

Lazy Trader Joe’s Meatball Sliders

Meatballs are good, but meatballs that are pre-cooked for you are even better. I love the Trader Joe’s frozen meatballs and use them for sandwiches, pizza and calzones. It’s perfect for nights when I’ve had a long day because I can set it and forget it until it’s time to eat. These sliders can be made up in less than 30 minutes and make me feel like I’m at a restaurant!

WHY IT TASTES GOOD: The meatballs and sauce on their own are both kind of “meh,” so this recipe brings out the best in both of them.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

HOW TO MAKE IT:

  1. Pour the marinara and meatballs into the medium sized saucepan and bring to a very light boil, before reducing heat to about medium and simmering for 20 minutes (stir occasionally)
  2. When the meatballs have about 10 minutes left, put the oven on broil (HI)
  3. Spread the garlic aioli on the buns, place on the cookie sheet and slide into the oven to broil until toasted
  4. Pull the buns out of the oven, top with meatballs/sauce (after it has heated for the full 20 minutes) and mozzarella (mozzarella will melt in about 2-3 minutes) and enjoy!
